Fatal head-on collision in Wilkes County leaves one dead and another injured, according to troopers

**Tragic Accident Occurs in Wilkes County:** A recent incident in Wilkes County, North Carolina has left one woman deceased and another injured. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol reported that the fatal crash took place early Wednesday morning on NC Highway 16 near Grindstone Lane. The accident involved a 2018 Honda CR-V driven by Kelly Jordan Holleman, 53, from North Wilkesboro, which veered across the centerline and collided with a 2019 Subaru Forester heading south. Unfortunately, Holleman succumbed to her injuries at the scene, as she was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the Subaru sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a medical facility in Winston-Salem. Despite thorough investigations, authorities have ruled out impairment or speed as contributing factors to the collision and no charges will be pressed in connection with the case.
