Fatal head-on collision in southeastern New Mexico
Authorities are looking into a tragic head-on collision that took place in the southeastern part of New Mexico. The accident occurred on U.S. Route 380, close to mile marker 196. According to police findings, one vehicle driven by Charles Johnson, 69, was heading east but crossed into the westbound lanes, resulting in the crash shortly past midnight on Thursday, July 24. Sadly, both Johnson and a passenger from the other vehicle, identified as Heather Morris, 40, were pronounced deceased by the state Office of Medical Investigator. The driver of the other vehicle and two passengers are currently receiving medical treatment in the hospital, with their conditions being undisclosed at this time.
