Fatal head-on collision in Ramona causes 5 injuries

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal head-on collision that occurred near Dos Picos County Park in Ramona. The incident involved a 2019 Lexus ES 300h and a 2000 Ford Excursion on state Route 67 at Brantner Lane. Unfortunately, the driver of the Lexus, a 35-year-old Ramona man, was killed in the crash. The driver of the Ford and four passengers were injured. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and authorities are unsure if drugs or alcohol played a role. The identity of the deceased has not been released.
