Fatal head-on collision in El Dorado County harms three individuals
The California Highway Patrol was called to a tragic collision on Saturday morning on Green Valley Road, just east of Silva Valley Parkway. According to CHP, a black Dodge Charger was heading east on Grass Valley Road while a silver Toyota Camry was traveling west on Green Valley Road. The Dodge Charger veered off course, struck a curb, returned to its lane, crossed into oncoming traffic, and collided with the Toyota Camry. Regrettably, the Toyota Camry driver, identified as Joan Allison, 84, from Cameron Park, lost her life in the accident. In addition, three individuals sustained injuries, one of them severe. The involvement of alcohol and drugs has not been ruled out, and investigation into the crash continues.
