Fatal glider crash claims Boulder man near Berthoud

A tragic incident occurred in Larimer County, Colorado, as a glider piloted by a man from Boulder crashed southwest of Berthoud on a dirt road near the county line with Boulder. The authorities were alerted to the crash at around 8:40 a.m. First responders, including the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, Berthoud Fire Protection District, and Thompson Valley EMS, rushed to the scene and found the glider had caught fire on impact. Tragically, the man was found deceased inside the glider once the flames were extinguished. The identity of the victim will be released by the Larimer County Coroner's Office, and investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
