Fatal four-car collision shuts down northbound I-75 for five hours

A fatal accident occurred on I-75 just south of Fowler Ave. in Tampa over the weekend, resulting in the closure of the northbound lanes for more than five hours. The incident involved a Hyundai, a Mazda, a Kia, and a Honda. The Hyundai initially collided with the Mazda before flipping over the guardrail into the northbound lanes, where it struck the Kia. Debris from the crash hit a fourth vehicle, a Honda. Sadly, the driver of the Hyundai, a 56-year-old woman from Gainesville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the Mazda and Honda were unharmed, while the driver of the Kia sustained minor injuries. The collision caused significant traffic congestion, leading to the closure of all northbound lanes for an extended period and forcing traffic to be redirected at I-4.
