Fatal firework accident claims life of man in Clay County
A man in Clay County, Indiana tragically lost his life due to injuries sustained from a firework. The incident took place on August 9, 2025, when 41-year-old Brandon Hamilton was attempting to light a 3-inch mortar firework as part of a display. Despite efforts to save him, Hamilton passed away at the scene. An autopsy is planned, and the Clay County Sheriff's Office, Clay County Coroner's Office, Jasonville Police Department, and Indiana State Police all provided assistance at the scene.
