Fatal ejection in multi-car crash on I-240 in Asheville, NC

A tragic accident occurred on Interstate 240 in Asheville, North Carolina, resulting in the death of a man who was ejected from a Jeep during a multi-vehicle crash over the weekend. Asheville Police Department officers responded to a collision near Exit 1B on Interstate 240 West on Saturday afternoon. According to the initial investigation, a 2015 Jeep Wrangler driven by 41-year-old Zachariah Robert Cosgrove was changing lanes on westbound I-240 when it collided with a 1984 Pontiac Firebird, causing the Jeep to roll over and hit a 2018 Ford F-150 traveling in the same direction. Unfortunately, Cosgrove was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle during the rollover, resulting in serious injuries that led to his passing at Mission Hospital. Another passenger in the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was also taken to Mission Hospital.
