Fatal Early Morning Accident On I-81 Wreck In Greene County
The Tennessee Highway Patrol confirms they are investigating a fatal accident around 5 am today on I-81 in Greene County near mile marker 41. Authorities tell Radio Greeneville News they expect to be on the scene for some time today following the three-vehicle accident around five am involving two semis and a passenger vehicle. I-81 Southbound is closed at mile marker 50 due to the 5 am crash. Northbound lanes are slowed as well. South traffic is exiting at Fall Branch which means you can expect increased traffic on the Kingsport Highway. Motorists should plan an alternate route.
