Fatal DUI crash in SW Bakersfield; 2 others busted for drunk driving through barricade: BPD
A fatal crash occurred in Bakersfield early Sunday morning, resulting in one death and two injuries. Authorities suspect alcohol was a factor in the collision, which took place when a vehicle traveling west on Panama Lane collided with a vehicle heading south on Stine Road. A passenger in the southbound vehicle, a woman in her 20s, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the southbound vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized, while the driver of the westbound vehicle suffered minor injuries. Additionally, two motorists were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after driving through a police barricade at the crash site. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at 661-327-7111.
