A 68-year-old man from Decatur tragically lost his life after sustaining serious injuries in a collision between two vehicles on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred at the intersection of W Rock Springs Road and Westgate Drive, where a Chrysler PT Cruiser turned across lanes and was struck by a Chevrolet 1500 truck traveling in the opposite direction. The driver and passenger of the truck, both local residents, suffered minor injuries. The driver of the PT Cruiser, also from Decatur, was critically injured and later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
