Fatal Davenport motorcycle accident leaves one dead, one critically injured: PCSO
A tragic accident occurred early Saturday morning in Davenport, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist and critical injuries to his passenger when a truck was involved. The incident is under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit after the collision at U.S. Highway 27 and Interstate 4. The motorcyclist, an adult male, was driving a blue Suzuki motorcycle with an adult female passenger, exiting westbound I-4 onto southbound U.S. 27. The motorcycle was reportedly speeding through traffic before the crash with a White Toyota Tundra, which had failed to fully stop before entering southbound U.S. 27 from a motel driveway. The motorcycle driver did not survive, and the passenger is in critical condition after being airlifted to a local hospital. Both individuals on the motorcycle were not wearing helmets, while the truck driver, who was unharmed and wearing a seat belt, was found at fault for not coming to a complete stop.
