
Fatal crash victims identified in Butte County
Authorities in Sioux Falls, South Dakota have identified the individuals involved in a tragic two-vehicle collision resulting in one fatality and one individual sustaining severe injuries. The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 7, at 5:56 p.m. The crash involved a Chevrolet S10 driven by Darin Michael Hanson, 22, traveling south on Beet Road, and a Dodge Dakota operated by Joseph Lane Hanson, 24, moving east on Reid Road. Unfortunately, Joseph Hanson failed to yield at the intersection with Beet Road, causing a collision with the S10. Both vehicles ended up in a drainage ditch following the impact. Darin Hanson was ejected from his vehicle and airlifted to a Rapid City hospital with serious injuries that are not life-threatening, while Joseph Hanson tragically did not survive the crash. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this devastating accident.
