Fatal crash under I-95 overpass in Baltimore after pursuit with MDTA officer

Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a vehicle crash following a pursuit involving a Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) officer in Baltimore in the early hours of June 4. The incident occurred when the driver of an Infinity failed to comply with a traffic stop and led the officer on a high-speed chase. The pursuit came to a devastating end when the vehicle crashed into a pillar beneath I-95, resulting in the fatalities of both occupants. Thankfully, there were no injuries to the officer involved. The Maryland Office of the Attorney General's Independent Investigations Division (IID) is currently examining the events leading up to the crash, with the officer's vehicle equipped with a dashboard camera to aid in the investigation. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the IID at 410-576-7070 or via email at [email protected]. Additionally, recent incidents involving car thefts and crashes in Howard County and Frederick County, which resulted in arrests, emphasize the ongoing need for public safety and vigilant law enforcement efforts.
