Fatal crash temporarily closes parts of U.S. 421 in Kernersville, officials say
A fatal crash has temporarily shut down a busy Triad highway, according to the local officials. On Sunday just before 9:45 a.m., officers with the Kernersville Police Department said the crash is on U.S. 421 northbound and extending into parts of southbound at U.S. 74. NCDOT officials said the crash is near mile marker 227.Forsyth County EMS said one person has died as a result of the crash. Police said the crash is causing major backups. Officers are asking drivers to avoid this area if possible, and find an alternate route.
