Fatal crash reported south of Yuba City by CHP
An inquiry is currently ongoing regarding a fatal accident that occurred on a rural yet frequently used road in Sutter County on Tuesday. The incident took place close to the intersection of South George Washington Boulevard and Obanion Road, south of South Yuba City. According to investigators from the California Highway Patrol, an eyewitness observed a Toyota failing to stop at the intersection of Obanion Road and South George Washington Boulevard. Subsequently, this car was hit by a semi-truck with double dump trailers. Tragically, the driver of the Toyota, a 31-year-old woman from Sacramento, lost her life in the crash. Additionally, the front passenger, a 30-year-old woman from Sacramento, sustained severe injuries. Their identities have not been disclosed yet. The impact from the semi-truck caused the Toyota to be pushed into an orchard located on the southeast corner of the crossroads. Fortunately, there were no other reported injuries. CHP closed the roads in the vicinity for approximately two hours.
