Fatal crash on U.S. 54 in Meade County
A tragic incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in Meade County, Kansas, resulting in the loss of a woman from Minnesota. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that the fatal head-on collision took place around 4:45 p.m. near mile marker 45 on U.S. Highway 54, just west of the junction with U.S. 160. The accident involved a 35-year-old woman named Ashley M. Brooker from Stillwater, Minnesota, who was driving a 2011 Cadillac CTS traveling westbound. The collision occurred when her vehicle crossed into the opposing lane and collided with a 2022 Toyota Tundra heading eastbound. The driver of the Tundra, a 49-year-old man from El Paso, Texas, suffered suspected minor injuries. The authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash.
