Fatal crash on Tuesday night claims life of Clinton woman in Dewitt County
A tragic incident occurred in DeWitt County, Illinois, where a 45-year-old woman from Clinton lost her life following a crash on Tuesday night. State Police confirmed that the accident took place on Route 54 near 300 East Road in Kenney Village. Responding to a report of a single-vehicle collision causing injuries around 10:15 p.m., officers found that the woman, who was driving eastbound, veered off the road at a curve and struck a tree, resulting in her ejection from the vehicle. Sadly, she was pronounced deceased at the scene and her identity is being withheld pending family notification. An autopsy will be conducted on Wednesday. Following a temporary closure for investigation purposes, all lanes where the accident occurred have since reopened with the assistance of the DeWitt County Sheriff's Office.
