Fatal Crash on Route 50 in Doddridge County; Man Faces Charges

A man is facing charges following a collision on Route 50 near West Union, resulting in the death of a woman. The incident occurred on March 18 at the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and W.Va. Route 18. According to court documents obtained by 12 News, Angie Campbell, one of the drivers involved, tragically lost her life in the crash. The other driver, Louis Oswalt, 46, was treated at the scene, then transported to two different hospitals. It was reported that Oswalt ran a red light, causing the fatal collision. Troopers discovered drugs in his vehicle and later found that he tested positive for multiple substances. Oswalt has been charged with DUI resulting in death, and is currently in custody at North Central Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond. In response to the incident, a petition initiated by the victim's family to reduce the speed limit on Route 50 in Doddridge County has gathered over 1,400 signatures.
