Fatal crash on Route 18 claims life of Meadville man
A tragic incident occurred in Crawford County as a Meadville resident lost his life in a collision between his sedan and a pickup truck on State Route 18. The accident took place at the junction of State Route 18 and Agnew Road in Summit Township on a Tuesday afternoon. Richard Eddy, 67, was driving his sedan west on Agnew Road when he failed to notice an approaching pickup truck traveling south on Route 18. The sedan was struck on the passenger side, resulting in Eddy's unfortunate death at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Meadville Medical Center for treatment of suspected minor injuries. Presently, no charges have been pressed in connection with the incident.
