Fatal crash on Rampart Range Road overnight
A fatal accident occurred along Rampart Range Road shortly after midnight on Tuesday, resulting in one fatality. The Colorado Springs Police Department received a call at 12:20 a.m. reporting the crash, which took place approximately four miles up the road. Responding units from CSFD and CSPD located the crash, where a passenger informed them the vehicle had veered off the road and overturned several times. The passenger escaped the crash and sought help from another vehicle. During the investigation, officers discovered one deceased individual inside the vehicle. The police have not determined if speed or alcohol played a role. The CSPD major crash team is conducting an inquiry, with findings to be disclosed later. The El Paso County Coroner will reveal the identity of the deceased person in due course.
