Fatal Crash on Poway Road, Sabre Springs Parkway in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (August 15, 2025) -- Tragically, a fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Poway Road and Sabre Springs Parkway in San Diego on Friday, resulting in the deaths of an 18-year-old woman and a 72-year-old man. The incident involved a motorcycle and a car at 12:15 a.m. on Friday, August 15th, with reports indicating that the young woman, who was riding an eastbound Yamaha motorcycle on Poway Road, ran a red light at Sabre Springs Parkway, leading to the collision with the man's Mitsubishi Montero SUV as he was turning left on a green arrow. The motorcycle rider passed away at the scene, while the man succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division is currently investigating the accident and is seeking any witnesses who may have information regarding the incident.
