
Fatal Crash on Loop 202
Officials reported that a driver lost their life in a fiery accident that occurred in Mesa on Wednesday morning. The Arizona Department of Public Safety stated that a Ford F150 struck the right barrier bridge on the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway on July 16, resulting in a fire. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, did not survive. Following the incident, westbound lanes were closed at Broadway Road for an extended period but have since been reopened. Fortunately, the closure did not impact the eastbound lanes. The identity of the driver remains unknown, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
