Fatal crash on I-94 in St. Clair Shores due to car hitting tree, police report
Two individuals lost their lives on Saturday night when the car they were in crashed into a tree on westbound Interstate 94 in St. Clair Shores, as per Michigan State Police. The accident took place close to Eight Mile Road around 8:30 p.m. After witnesses reported reckless driving, troopers found a vehicle that had veered off the road and collided with a tree. Upon arrival, the driver, a 40-year-old man from St. Clair Shores, and his passenger, a 26-year-old man from Clinton Township, were pronounced dead. The freeway was temporarily closed for about four hours while the authorities conducted an investigation. F/Lt. Mike Shaw urged responsible driving in a statement following the crash, emphasizing the importance of avoiding risky behaviors behind the wheel. The incident is still being probed pending reports from the medical examiner.
