A fatal accident occurred early Thursday on I-94 in Chicago, where a man tragically lost his life in a single-car crash. The Illinois State Police reported that the incident took place at approximately 1 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Cermak and the Chinatown Feeder. Responding troopers discovered the driver deceased at the scene, later identified as Alexander Smith, a 34-year-old resident of Evanston by the Cook County coroner. Following the accident, both northbound and southbound lanes in the vicinity were temporarily shut down for investigative purposes, although they have since been reopened.
