Fatal crash on I-94 claims life of Miles City resident
A tragic incident occurred last Friday on Interstate 94 near Mile City, resulting in the loss of a local resident. The individual, a 41-year-old male, was involved in a single-vehicle accident while driving an eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee around 11 p.m. Investigations by the Montana Highway Patrol revealed that the vehicle veered across the centerline near mile marker 137 before colliding with a bridge barrier. Following this impact, the driver attempted to correct the course but went off the right side of the road, eventually hitting a delineator post. The Jeep then overturned multiple times, leading to the driver being ejected from the vehicle before it ultimately came to a stop in a barrow pit. Tragically, the driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was declared deceased upon arrival at a nearby medical facility. Authorities suspect that speed and drugs might have played a role in the crash and noted that the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
