Fatal crash on I-65 in White County involves semi and box truck.
A fatality occurred following a collision between a semi-truck and a box truck on I-65 in White County, Indiana. The incident prompted response from Indiana State Police who arrived at the scene near mile marker 197 around 4 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that a box truck shifted lanes, colliding with the trailer of a southbound semi in the right lane. The passenger in the box truck was pronounced dead at the site, while the truck drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. The right lane of I-65 was temporarily closed after the accident but reopened later that morning. Multiple agencies responded to the incident including the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, the White County Sheriff’s Office, the White County Coroner’s Office, and Wolcott Fire and EMS.
