Fatal crash on I-65 in Tippecanoe Co.
One person has died following a collision involving a tractor-trailer on I-65 southbound in Tippecano County. The incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, resulting in a multi-vehicle crash near the Lafayette exit between Swisher Road and State Road 25 at mile marker 176.5. The Indiana State Police at the Lowell Post confirmed the fatality and announced that all southbound lanes will remain closed for an extended period for reconstruction. According to authorities, a 2023 Audi SQ6 was struck from behind by a semi-truck while traveling southbound, causing both vehicles to veer off the road. Unfortunately, the driver of the Audi was declared dead at the scene, while the semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries.
