Fatal crash on I-485 in Charlotte: 6 dead, 1 injured
Authorities have provided additional details about the tragic accident on Interstate 485 last Saturday, which resulted in the deaths of six individuals and one survivor. The incident, which occurred at 11:06 a.m. at the intersection of I-485 and Walkers Ferry Road, involved two vehicles becoming wedged under a tractor-trailer, as reported by the Steele Creek Fire Department. A 16-year-old named Paul Sauer was identified as the driver of a Honda CRV that veered into the right lane and collided with a Chrysler van driven by Samuel Holmes. This collision led to both vehicles striking the tractor-trailer. The van passengers, five of whom perished including Holmes, and Sauer also lost their lives in the crash.
