Fatal crash on I-355 in Lemont caused by wrong-way driver, says Illinois State Police
One driver was killed and another seriously injured in a crash on Interstate 355 in Lemont, located in southwest suburban Cook County. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning near the Des Plaines River, as reported by the Illinois State Police. The investigation revealed that a car traveling southbound was struck head-on by another vehicle going the wrong way in the southbound lanes. The driver of the wrong-way car was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver was hospitalized in serious condition.
