Fatal crash on I-293 North in Manchester claims life of Salem man
A fatal accident occurred on Thursday morning on Interstate 293 in Manchester, resulting in the death of one person. The crash happened on the northbound side of the highway between Brown Avenue and South Willow Street when a Ford pickup truck and a Cadillac collided. The driver of the pickup truck, John Vangelder of Salem, was tragically killed. The other driver involved was uninjured and is cooperating with authorities. The crash caused lane closures and significant traffic delays, but the highway was reopened around 11:30 a.m. State police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
