Fatal crash on Highway 12 near American Canyon
A tragic incident occurred on Friday night in Napa County when a speeding sports car lost control and crashed, resulting in the death of a man and serious injuries to a woman. The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash took place on State Highway 12, just west of Kirkland Ranch Road. The black Nissan 350Z was going at a high speed westbound when the driver lost control while navigating a curve. The vehicle went into the center median, swerved to the right, went off the road, became airborne, hit multiple objects, and rolled several times before stopping in a field north of the highway. Both occupants had their seat belts on. The driver, whose name has not been disclosed yet, died at the scene, while the passenger was hospitalized with severe injuries. Alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the crash, according to the CHP.
