Fatal crash on Georgesville Road in west Columbus
A fatal multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck occurred in southwest Columbus on Monday, resulting in one person's death and another being in critical condition. The collision took place at 12:42 p.m. at the intersection of Georgesville Road and Auto Mall Drive, where a car collided with the semi-truck. Fire chief Jeffrey Geitter reported that two passengers from the car were trapped and had to be rescued. They were both transported to a hospital in critical condition, where sadly, one of them passed away. Due to the accident, Ohio Department of Transportation closed the exit ramps from Interstate 270 to Georgesville Road.
