Fatal crash on FM-529: 1 dead, 1 injured as vehicle overturns and ignites; road closure
Authorities in Harris County have closed FM-529 following a serious collision that resulted in a vehicle catching fire on Tuesday morning. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported that deputies were called to northwest Harris County at FM-529 and Fairview Street after a vehicle overturned. Unfortunately, one person was trapped inside the vehicle as it was on fire and despite efforts to rescue them, they were pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual was transported to the hospital, and a deputy sustained minor burns while assisting in the rescue operation. The cause of the crash remains unknown, and the victims have not been identified yet. FM-529 is currently closed in all directions as a result of the incident.
