Fatal crash on Far North Side in the early hours
A fatal crash occurred on the Far North Side of Chicago in the early hours of Friday morning. The incident, involving a white vehicle and a blue SUV, took place near the intersection of West Belmont Avenue and North Cumberland Avenue in O'Hare, close to River Grove. Reports from Chicago police indicate that the driver of the white vehicle, aged between 40 and 48, ignored a traffic signal while heading west on Belmont and collided with the blue SUV being driven by a 30-year-old man traveling north on Cumberland. Tragically, the driver of the white vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the blue SUV was unharmed and declined medical assistance at the scene. The deceased driver has not been publicly identified, and an investigation is ongoing.
