Fatal crash on Dan Ryan Expressway claims life of 34-year-old man, according to state police
A tragic incident occurred Thursday morning on the Dan Ryan Expressway, resulting in the loss of a male individual. The rollover crash took place on northbound I-94 at Cermak, specifically on the Chinatown Feeder ramp at approximately 1 a.m. Illinois State Police promptly attended the scene of the single-vehicle accident, where regrettably the only person inside was declared deceased on site. The individual was later identified as 34-year-old Alexander Smith by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Following the incident, both northbound and southbound lanes were shut down at 1:09 a.m. for investigative purposes but have since been reopened.
