Fatal crash on Bay Bridge involves multiple vehicles

A fatal collision occurred late Friday night on the Bay Bridge, leading to the death of a driver as per the California Highway Patrol. The crash involved four cars – a white Genesis sedan, two silver Toyota cars, and a gray Toyota – blocking several lanes. The initial investigation indicates that the Genesis sedan was speeding and collided with the silver Toyota Corolla, causing a chain reaction involving the other vehicles. Emergency responders, including San Francisco police and CHP officers, arrived at the scene, where one driver was severely injured and later died in the hospital. Another individual was also hospitalized, with the details of their injuries and role in the incident yet to be confirmed. The driver who died was identified as a man, while the Genesis driver stayed at the scene. Authorities suspect drugs and alcohol to be contributing factors in the crash, and the total number of individuals involved in the collision and any additional injuries are still being determined. Following the incident, the lanes were reopened around 1 a.m. on Saturday.
