Fatal crash near Wake Forest claims teen's life
A tragic incident occurred early Saturday morning in northern Wake County, resulting in the death of a Wake Forest teenager and injuries to two other individuals. The crash, involving a single car, took place on Chalk Road near Hidden Nook Lane. It was revealed by North Carolina State Highway Patrol Sgt. Marcus Bethea that the 17-year-old driver of a black Kia lost control, crossed the center line, and crashed into a ditch before hitting a tree and overturning. The driver, Jackson Ryan Brookhart, lost his life in the accident, and the front passenger, Reece Campbell, along with a 17-year-old in the back seat, were hospitalized for treatment. The driver's high speed played a role in the crash, as stated by Bethea, who indicated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
