Fatal crash near South Miami Heights claims lives of man and boy
A man and a boy tragically lost their lives in a crash in Southwest Miami-Dade, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident involved a black Lexus sedan with the man and boy inside, and a gray GMC SUV carrying four individuals on eastbound State Road 994 near South Miami Heights. The driver of the Lexus, an adult male, passed away at the crash site, and the boy was airlifted to HCA Kendall Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Fortunately, the four occupants in the GMC were unharmed. At the time of the incident, SR-994 was closed for investigation, with traffic being redirected onto SW 117th Ave. The FHP has not disclosed the identities of the victims or provided additional details regarding the crash, citing an ongoing investigation.
