Fatal crash near Nevada County Airport.
Emergency responders are currently at the site of a fatal small plane accident in Nevada County on Thursday morning. Grass Valley authorities were alerted to a potential plane crash near Whispering Pines Lane around 8:45 a.m., near the Nevada County Airport. Thankfully, no nearby buildings were affected by the crash. Tragically, the individual on board the plane did not survive. The victim's identity has not yet been disclosed. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have been informed of the incident. For safety reasons, the section of the road between Idaho Maryland Road and Centennial is closed. Stay tuned for updates on this ongoing situation.
