Fatal crash near Fort Union in Midvale claims life of 17-year-old

In Midvale, Utah, tragically, a teenager lost their life in a car accident on a Saturday afternoon. According to Unified Police, the incident occurred close to 12:50 p.m. along Fort Union Blvd. near 7200 South. The victim, a 17-year-old student at Hillcrest High School, was driving an SUV in the westbound direction when they swerved to avoid a vehicle, ultimately losing control on the slick roads and colliding with a parked semitrailer. Sadly, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while their 19-year-old passenger was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The department and Midvale Mayor Dustin Gettel, via Instagram, expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, emphasizing the importance of unity and cherishing every moment with loved ones.
