Fatal crash near Boca Raton shopping center results in 1 death, police report
One person has tragically lost their life as a result of a crash that occurred on Thursday morning near Town Center at Boca Raton, according to the local police. The incident took place around 6 a.m. in the 2400 block of West Glades Road. The eastbound lanes of Glades Rd. had to be shut down for several hours while the authorities investigated the crash. The collision involved a 2010 Dodge Caliber and a 2025 BMW X1, driven by 37-year-old Edgar Eduardo Munoz Avendano and 61-year-old Ashaki Sutton respectively. The Dodge attempted a left turn and was struck by the BMW traveling in the opposite direction. While both drivers sustained minor injuries, the passenger in the Dodge, 47-year-old Yonin Mejia Rodriguez, was critically injured and later passed away at a hospital.
