Fatal crash near Allendale leaves one dead, two injured
A fatal collision occurred in Georgetown Township on Saturday night, resulting in one fatality and two individuals being hospitalized. According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the incident took place when a 54-year-old man from Jenison, driving a Nissan west on Fillmore Street near Bend Drive, veered across the centerline and collided head-on with a pickup truck traveling east on Fillmore. Unfortunately, the driver of the Nissan succumbed to his injuries. The two occupants of the pickup truck, a 20-year-old man from Farmington Hills and a 21-year-old woman from Hudsonville, sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment. To conduct investigations and facilitate cleanup, Fillmore Street between 36th and 40th Streets was temporarily closed. The sheriff's office is currently handling the case.
