Fatal crash leaves two dead, one injured in Shawano County
A tragic accident occurred in Waukechon, Wis., where two individuals lost their lives and another was hospitalized following a collision between two vehicles on Friday afternoon in Shawano County. The Shawano County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident took place at 1:30 p.m. at the junction of County Road BE and County Road B in the Town of Waukechon. Initial findings suggest that a pickup truck traveling east on County Road BE collided with an SUV attempting to turn west onto BE from County Road B. Unfortunately, it seems the SUV did not notice the oncoming truck and was struck while making the turn. The pickup truck, driven by a sole occupant, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The SUV, carrying a 69-year-old woman and a 71-year-old individual from the Bonduel region, were found unresponsive and, despite efforts by first responders, tragically succumbed to their injuries. To respect their loved ones, the identities of those involved have not been disclosed at this time. The Shawano County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the crash.
