Fatal crash leads to arrest for vehicle rollover on congested Garner street
A fatal multiple-vehicle crash occurred in east Garner yesterday morning, resulting in one person's death and another facing charges. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on White Oak Road near Timber Drive East. A Dodge Viper driver lost control of their vehicle, causing it to flip over the median and collide with a car traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as Patrick Trevathan, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Viper driver, Michael Roberts, sustained serious injuries and was taken to WakeMed Raleigh. Roberts faces charges including misdemeanor death by vehicle, careless and reckless driving, and speeding. Police do not suspect impairment was a factor. The road was reopened around 3 p.m.
