Fatal crash involving Uber driver and food truck on 10 Freeway in Mid-City

A tragic incident occurred early Thursday morning where an Uber driver lost their life in a collision with a food truck on the eastbound 10 Freeway in Los Angeles’ Mid-City area. According to officials, the crash took place near the Arlington Avenue off-ramp around 2:15 a.m. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene, where they found a car, being used for Uber, had collided with a food truck, possibly parked at the time, resulting in a small fire. The driver, a man in his 40s, was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. Thankfully, initial reports indicated that the Uber passengers were able to exit the vehicle safely, with one 32-year-old passenger being taken to the hospital in fair condition. The incident caused lane closures on the eastbound side of the freeway for several hours, impacting traffic in both directions during the morning rush hour. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and the driver's identity has not yet been disclosed.
