Fatal crash involving tractor trailer in Westerlo
Emergency responders are currently at the site of a collision between a tractor trailer and a vehicle in Westerlo, as reported by the Albany County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred on County Route 401 just after 10:45 a.m. According to the ACSO, a car carrying a family of six, including three children, reportedly did not stop at the intersection with County Route 404, resulting in a crash with an approaching tractor trailer traveling northbound. Sheriff Craig Apple confirmed the death of one occupant of the car, with three others, one being a child, in critical condition. Two helicopters have been dispatched to the area, and the collision caused the tractor trailer to rollover. Law enforcement will remain on the scene as investigations continue.
