Fatal crash involving tractor-trailer in Poolesville
Authorities in Montgomery County responded to a tragic incident on Wednesday morning involving a truck and an SUV that resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred at the intersection of Darnestown Road and Cattail Road in Poolesville. According to reports, a Kenworth tractor-trailer and a Ford Fusion were involved in the collision. Emergency responders found one individual trapped in a vehicle and another possibly ejected. Unfortunately, the driver of the Fusion, later identified as an adult, succumbed to the injuries at the scene. The passenger was transported to a medical facility with severe injuries. The tractor-trailer driver stayed at the site and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation led by the Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, resulting in the closure of Darnestown Road at Cattail Road.
