Fatal crash involving teenage driver in Orange County
The Florida Highway Patrol is currently looking into a tragic collision that took place early on Sunday morning in Orange County. According to FHP troopers, the incident occurred at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Landstar Boulevard, just north of Island Cove Drive. Both a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and a 2007 Honda CR-V were headed southbound when the Hyundai's driver lost control, leading to a collision with the rear of the Honda. Subsequently, the Hyundai veered off the road, hitting a tree in the median. The 17-year-old driver of the Hyundai from Orlando was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead; he was not wearing a seat belt when the crash happened. Fortunately, the driver of the Honda remained at the scene and was unharmed. The authorities are still investigating this unfortunate incident.
