Fatal crash involving state trooper SUV claims Maryland woman's life
A tragic incident occurred on Interstate 87 near Schroon Lake when a cargo van collided with a marked State Police SUV on Friday evening. The crash resulted in a multi-vehicle accident that led to the closure of the northbound lanes. The State Police SUV had pulled over a Mercedes for a traffic violation and was conducting a traffic stop with its emergency lights activated when a Ford Transit struck the back of the vehicle, causing a chain reaction collision. The occupants of the Mercedes escaped uninjured, while the State Police officer sustained minor injuries and was taken to Glens Falls Hospital. The driver of the Ford Transit, Brian M. Danioski, and his passenger, Anne F. Everton, both from Baltimore, Maryland, were also taken to the hospital. Tragically, Everton was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation into the crash kept the area near Exit 28 closed as authorities worked through the night.
